Version 0.40, Randomized Tasks & New Starter Task

Over the span of almost a year, I have now spent 90 days working on Olympus Central, and today bring you version 0.40!
Meaning, I'm guesstimating the game is 40% complete.

-------------------------------
WHAT'S NEW IN V.040
-------------------------------

The Random Task Logic -  Version 0.30 came with  randoms rooms which was only part of the system I wanted to implement to help Olympus Central bring variety during each playthrough. Now, the game has an overarching system that dictates which tasks will trigger, and which rooms will need to spawn based on if they are required for the selected tasks or not.

The system gathers all the task managers in the world and randomly select them, making the distinction between starter task or not. Then, a number of regular tasks are selected based on progression (currently a total of 4), and randomly triggered through the game in ranged random intervals and order, or when you've completed a previous task.

This came with a lot of restructuration needed because the logic for pretty much everything used to be hosted in the game screen widget and the player controller, now it's composed of several interconnected elements that communicate together to make the logic work. And it should also be easily expandable by creating new content, task managers, characters, tasks and ingredients.

- Murder Hornets - Starting the game will still have you meet Hera and trigger the selected starter task. But now, it'll either be the usual snakes that we love so much, or murder hornets, the latest vermin infestation in Olympus Central. This comes with the addition of a new item, the torch, that can be interacted with a bunch of other elements such as water and braziers.

- Updated Controls - Despite being functional, the original controls, made back in May 2023 could be pretty limiting and awkward to use. After version 0.30 I finally made this my priority and the controls have now been updated by letting you hold right mouse button to rotate the camera instead of using A and D, which are now used for strafing. So these controls are pretty much the same as FPS game, except, there is no look up or down.

WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG
-------------------------------

In a little more than 9 months, I spent a grand total 90 days working on Olympus Central.
There are still numerous other projects I'm working on at the same time, which explains the delay, but I've recently decided to put the focus on Olympus Central and another one. I'm thinking this should make progress faster as I'm aiming to ship both during the first half of the year.

I have one major system I want to tackle, then I need to finally add the menus, and I think I'll be able to call the game alpha., which is really exciting. After that, it's all about making that sweet content, for which the scope hasn't really been all that clearly identified. I guess I'll go with my gut feeling, we'll see.

Feel free to download the version 0.40 and let me know about any feedback and suggestions about the game,
I always love to hear those. I'm also hoping you'll visit our little discord server where I post regular updates about whichever project I spent the day working on, full with gifs and screenshots.
